Medical Progress Fund Records

These records of the medical progress fund contain information on the objectives and plans of fund raising, publicity materials, correspondence, list of donors, minutes of meetings and a mention on Tan Sri Dr Runme Shaw, one half of the famous Shaw brothers who owned a huge chain of theatres across Singapore and Malaya in the 1920s. He was also a great philanthropist who donated generously towards education.

Seamen's Welfare Office Files

These are files of the various seamen's organisations such as the Malay Marine Officers' Association, the Singapore Chinese Seafarers' Association, the Pakistani Seamen's Union of Singapore, the Asia Maritime Officers' Union and so forth. The files contain minutes of meetings, miscellaneous correspondence with shipping and government agencies on grievances, wage disputes, compensation, financial assistance, registration of seamen and shipping and government circulars and etc.

They cover registers and records of surface synoptic charts, upper air charts, dry-bulb temperature, relative humidity, dew point, sunshine, surface wind, wind direction and velocity, rainfall, thunderstorms and etc.
